Stephanie Shuptrine

Watercolor Artist · Carolina Mountains

At a very early age and after completing a course in cartooning, Stephanie Shuptrine knew she was destined to be an artist. Stephanie also had encouragement and guidance from her father Hubert Shuptrine, the renowned master watercolor painter of the old south.

In addition, Stephanie knew that in order to become the very best and follow in her father's footsteps, she would have to develop a variety of painting and drawing skills. So transitioning from cartoons to caricatures came naturally during her high school years.

In college, at the Atlanta College of Art, Stephanie's emphasis was anatomy and drawing from live models. She moved on to Appalachian State University and graduated with a degree in Art.

Grateful to her father, Stephanie Shuptrine has set for herself an uncompromised standard of excellence and aims to be worthy of the confidence her father placed in her.

— A Personal Commitment

With My Father's Brushes

Stephanie worked diligently with her father. Some days, she painted with Hubert's instruction and other times watched her father as he painted. He gave her his unconditional love and devotion, while sharing his wisdom of the world and skills as an artist.

Stephanie will always feel truly blessed to have had the Best Dad in the World.

Before he died, Hubert requested that Stephanie take over his studio. Besides being the only Artist that he had ever taught, Hubert was satisfied that after all of his years of watching over Stephanie's artistic development that she was able to carry on in the style and insightful approach which had distinguished his works.

A Heart for Haiti

Stephanie and her Soulmate/Partner, Len Gengel travel to the country of Haiti 3-4 times a year. Len built an Orphanage in honor of his daughter Britney who perished in the Haiti Earthquake back in 2010.

Stephanie is so intrigued by the Tenacity and Faith of the Haitian People, who believe that one day they will evolve out of poverty in the poorest nation in the western hemisphere.

Stephanie has been touched by the Love, Caring and Sharing of their Faith with others, that she is inspired to capture those special moments with her art on the Magical Island.
